In the garden and beyond

A great late season hosta

‘Invincible’ (1986) is a medium-sized hosta with very glossy leaves that have rippled edges.  This lovely late-bloomer sends up scapes of fragrant pale lavender flowers now.

A fast grower, ‘Invincible’ will grow 15 inches high and spread 24 inches wide. It is one of the first hostas to emerge in spring and will tolerate morning sun.

You can find this wonderful specimen through hosta specialty growers, but, if you live near Medfield, Massachusetts, you’ll find a good supply at Lovell’s, ready to take home and plant in your garden.
