‘Anytime’ Iris Pansiola
This post begins a series on Proven Winners, top performing plants that are trialed and tested for successful performance. Some of their new introductions for 2016 are fantastic, including Anytime Iris Pansiola (Viola x wittrockiana).
Pansies are one of my all time favorite annuals, so I’m very excited about this new introduction, and the fact that it’s both cold and heat tolerant in Zones 5-10. You can plant them in spring (in full sun) and they’ll continue to bloom through the summer and into the fall.
These pansies also have a semi-trailing habit and grow 6 – 10 inches high, which makes them excellent for hanging baskets, window boxes and container gardens.
